Don't Fish or Hunt Alone!

Our Fishing Guide Shows You the Hot Spots

Ocean View Lodge is truly a fishing paradise, with easy access to a vast array of Kodiak Island fishing grounds sheltered by beautiful Sitkalidak Island. Centrally located on the east side of Kodiak Island, Old Harbor is a 30-minute flight from the city of Kodiak. A fisherman's dream come true, we offer 5 species of salmon, from king salmon in May to silvers in September—the action never stops at our hunting and fishing lodge!

For Your Fishing Adventure
Fish the protected waters of Sitkalidak Strait off Kodiak Island for giant chrome-bright king salmon weighing up to 75 pounds. June is also good for rockfish and halibut. Along with ling cod season opening July 1, silver salmon are starting to come in and you can still catch kings. You can possibly see whales and other marine mammals, which include harbor seals and stellar sea lions, when on a Kodiak Island Alaska Fishing Trip.

Our skippers and fishing guides are Coast Guard licensed and have a lifetime of experience on the water around Kodiak Island. They are well-seasoned professionals who have spent their lives on the waters surrounding Kodiak Island. They are also former commercial fishermen and know just where to find the fish.

Our boat is a Norsco Marine BW-2800 with a deep V hull. It ensures a smooth ride in choppy seas that most boats will not venture out in. It has a wide walk-around single-level deck, central rigging station, and enclosed cabin with a head. It also is equipped with full marine electronics and 4 Scotty™ electric downriggers.

September–October:
This is a great time for fly-fishing in the streams with our fishing guides for bright silver salmon and it's a highly recommended time for bow hunting. Sitka blacktail deer are coming out of velvet. You still have an excellent chance to catch King salmon and halibut. Duck season opens Oct 8th.

November–December:
Sitka blacktail Deer are starting to rut in late October. This is typically the time of year for rifle hunters for Kodiak Island Hunting. There is still a fair chance at king salmon and a great chance at halibut. King eiders are starting to show up by mid-November. You are pretty much guaranteed excellent Kodiak Island Sea Duck Hunting for harlequin, and a good chance at a sitka blacktail.
