During the early fall, Cohos school up along the beach in front of the hunting resort and can be caught there. During the spring, bald eagles roost near the lodge and frequently fly by the windows of the common room. This entire atmosphere is wrapped in comfortable and modern accommodations. Want to get off the beaten path and enjoy world-class sport fishing? Ocean View Lodge is the place for you! With only 6 charter boats fishing in the Old Harbor area, the odds of seeing another boat are very low. Most of the fishing takes place in the protected waters of Sitkalidak Strait and the deep bays that make up Kodiak Island. Salmon fishing is done by trolling. Halibut, rockfish, and lingcod are done by bottom jigging in depths from 60 to 200 feet.
